Union Studio - United in Design Scholarship

At Union Studio, we believe that the future of the architecture and planning profession is brightest when it expands to include and reflect the vast diversity in our society. We recognize that there has been progressing in developing a more diverse pipeline of designers, but we also know that there is still a long way to go to have true representation in the profession. To support the career development of underrepresented, minority, and LGBTQIA+ design professionals, Union Studio created United in Design: a scholarship program that provides the awardee with:

  • $2,500 academic scholarship paid directly to their current academic institution

  • Paid summer internship opportunity for 10-weeks at Union Studio in Providence, Rhode Island

  • $2,500 for housing assistance in Providence during the 10-week internship

  • Mentor for AXP (NCARB Architectural Experience Program) within the firm

We hope that you will help us promote this opportunity by distributing the information about United in Design to your members. Please find attached images that can be used in your newsletters and on your social media channels.

The full application instructions and additional program information are available online HERE. The deadline for applications is March 1, 2021.

We are excited to support the next generation of architecture and planning professionals and help create a more diverse and inclusive profession.
