Heintges Consulting Architects & Engineers P.C. invites undergraduate and graduate students to apply for its annual summer internship program. The program offers experience in the design, engineering and inspection of high-performance building envelopes.
Heintges is an award-winning firm of 40 architects and engineers committed to the realization of innovative building enclosures which meet the highest levels of sustainability and performance. As façade consultants, we collaborate with architects and owners on the technical design process to ensure the facade meets aesthetic and performance goals. Our role continues during construction administration and includes review and inspections of the fabrication and installation processes. We maintain a broad portfolio of projects worldwide including art museums, cultural centers, mixed-use developments, and supertall towers. Our work is guided by a shared commitment to quality and our talented staff collaborates with clients and contractors to deliver services which set the standard for our industry.
Internship Location: This opportunity is based in our NY office and will be in-person, barring changes to local health and safety guidelines.
Internship Duration: June 6, 2022 to July 28, 2022 (8 weeks)
The program will be structured to provide hands-on experience with design development, detailing and engineering tasks.
The candidate will have the opportunity to attend project team meetings involving the Architect, Owner and Façade Contractor on a variety of projects.
For work in construction phases, there will be scheduled factory and site visits to observe fabrication and installation of custom curtain wall systems.
Several educational opportunities will be scheduled, including structural and thermal analysis tutorials, lunch and learns, and an intern-led research project.
Interns must complete a minimum third year of architectural bachelor’s program or enrollment in master’s degree program in architecture or related field of study.
Interns must be returning to school in Fall 2022 to be considered.
Authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
