Gehl is seeking candidates for paid internships in our studios in New York City and San Francisco for the summer of 2021. Applicants should be recent graduates or entering their final year of studies in a Masters program in Urban Design, Architecture, or Landscape Architecture. As an interdisciplinary firm that works across design, policy, strategy, and research we seek candidates who have demonstrated interest and experience developing projects that span across disciplines and celebrate people-first urbanism. While spatial skills and graphic skills are essential to this position, we are especially interested in candidates that can demonstrate an interest in social science, environmental policy, or public health.

Your application should highlight your interest in urbanism and experience and proficiency with design software and graphic visualization (such as Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino, SketchUP, website design, video editing, and other communication software), research, analysis, writing, sketching, working collaboratively, and strategic thinking and storytelling.

While we anticipate returning to our studios in New York and San Francisco in the future, at this time we are working remotely and candidates are not expected to relocate
Internship dates will be arranged with selected candidates. (Typically the internship is 3 months long)
Pay is $20/hour
Internships may be full- or part-time
Projects are high profile and varied across the Americas
