The primary focus of the Director of Project Development is to identify potential client and project targets within the Science and Academic markets in Northeast. Responsibilities include:
Explore and develop a variety of lead sources for potential targets. Monitor trends and clients.
Within the strategic markets of science and technology and higher education, identify potential client and project targets; conduct research to determine their viability for Flad.
Develop and implement strategies to qualify the client and project lead. Determine if the client and their potential project align with Flad’s strategic positioning or will assist in ultimately achieving the strategic position, and the timing for when this client will have project work to award.
Investigate and establish partnering opportunities with other professional organizations. Develop and maintain contacts with appropriate architectural, engineering, consulting teammates, and subject matter experts.
Work with the appropriate leaders, assist in developing an annual marketing plan and budget
Develop a strategy for Flad’s participation in industry trade shows, events, seminars and the community where located. Implement the agreed upon strategy. Represent the firm as appropriate.
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, communications, architecture or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum eight years relevant business development experience required.
Knowledge of architecture, engineering, and/or construction field preferred.
Successful experience in networking and developing leads with clients and team members.
Proficient in Cosential or other contact management software.
Proven experience in targeting and cultivating leads for professional service resulting in winning new work.
Ability to travel to clients and job sites as needed.
Availability during Flad’s business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. required.
