Senior Healthcare Project Architect

Participate in and lead projects from design conception through construction administration for the healthcare industry. This position simultaneously drives forward architectural designs as well as focuses

on the management of projects. Responsible for small projects and lead key phases of larger scale work alongside fellow Project Architects and Interior Designers. Daily duties include, but are not limited to: lead

presentations for clients or city review boards, organize team tasks and provide guidance to junior staff, produce design development and construction documentation as well as schematic level studies using

East Coast Executives the leader in Diversity Recruitment has partnered with a leading real estate investment trust (REIT) to identify a Director of Architecture and Interiors based in Philadelphia, PA.


The Director of Architecture and Interiors will lead design and space planning efforts with a focus on tenant fit out and commercial interior projects.  The Director will oversee in-house space planners while managing the preparation of construction documents for bid and permitting on managed commercial interior projects. The Director will also work with Construction and Development staff on the design efforts related to capital improvements and new base building projects and coordinate the development of new Building Standards for all managed properties. For a complete position description visit HERE.



On Olive - Unique Architectural Residential Design Competition

This is a solicitation for design proposals from Black emerging architects or design professionals for the design and construction of a single-family residence as a part of an exciting collaborative residential development, On Olive.
On Olive is located in the Grand Center area of St. Louis. The project is conceived to represent the work of some of the best architects and design professionals practicing today but also to sell market-rate homes to middle-market buyers.
The overall development comprises almost two city blocks and already has residential properties under development by Tatiana Bilbao Estudio, MOS, Macias Peredo, Productora and Michael Maltzan. Display homes on the south side of Olive Street by four of these architects will be completed by early 2021.
The compensation for the winner will be $30,000 to take the house through schematics, and the house will be built. The deadline for submissions is February 28, 2021. For full information on both the project and the competition go to HERE.

Design BPL's Next Library Card!
This summer, Brooklyn Public Library will release a limited-edition library card celebrating Black American culture and history, in partnership with Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams and Brooklyn's Community Boards. The card will be released as part of BPL's Juneteenth 2021 celebrations, the first year this holiday will be recognized as a City, State and public school holiday.

The Urban Design Forum is reorienting this year's Forefront Fellowship, Cooperative Works, to focus on a just economic recovery from the pandemic. In partnership with the Deputy Mayor for Strategic Policy Initiatives and the Mayor's Office of M/WBE, Fellows will investigate inclusive workforce and business development strategies for the emerging building energy retrofit market. In the second phase, Fellows will explore how to support minority-owned businesses and workers of color, expand worker cooperatives, and democratize economic resources to build a more inclusive economy. 


Forefront is a 10-month, part-time professional development program; most Fellows participate in addition to their full-time job. The program will convene in a hybrid digital and in-person format beginning in September.

Each year the NYC School Construction Authority offers a Summer Internship Program (“SIP”) for 125 college-bound NYC public high school students. SIP is designed to provide students with exposure to a wide range of careers within the public and private sectors. This is accomplished through a paid, six-week internship at the SCA or with one of our business partners throughout New York City. 


Students recommended for SIP are expected to meet the following eligibility criteria:


1.  Be a New York City public high school student;

2.  Have an interest in one or more of the following career interest areas: architecture, engineering (civil, electrical, mechanical, structural and or environmental), construction management, business, information technology, real estate and or public administration;

3.  Have a grade point average of 80 or higher;

4.  Be available to work full time from July 6 -August 14, 2020; and

5.  Be able to provide original proof of authorization to work in the United States during the SIP registration process during the first week in June at the SCA: this includes original unexpired I-9 documentation and original age appropriate working papers (for those born after July 6, 2002).


In order to be considered for SIP, the following application materials must be submitted to SIP by March 6, 2020.


1.  Completed online SIP application,

2.  Current resume,

3.  Complete official high school transcript, and

4.  Recommendation form (see attached form)


Students are asked to upload their resume as well as their transcript (as a PDF document) to their online application; they may ask their school counselors to send their transcript to SIP electronically. The recommendation form is to be completed by a teacher or guidance counselor and returned directly to SIP electronically. If students have any difficulties, they may contact SIP at Students will be notified of the selection decisions for the SIP interview process by email by March 20. Interviews will be held during the NYC DOE Spring break from April 13-17, 2020, at the SCA. Students will be notified of the selection decisions for the program by May 11. Students selected either to interview and/or for SIP will receive a Doodle Poll invite by email asking them to register for these events.

DDC’s Summer Internship Program is an opportunity for a select group of students to gain valuable experience in the architecture, engineering, design, and construction management professions within the public sector. Students will gain hands-on technical experience through specific field assignments and a mentoring relationship with senior-level
technical staff.

The Department of Design and Construction (DDC) serves as the City’s primary capital construction project manager. They build many of the civic facilities New Yorkers use every day




To support the career development of under-represented, minority, and LGBTQ+ design professionals, Union Studio has launched United in Design, a scholarship program that provides the awardee with:


  • $2,500 academic scholarship paid directly to their current academic institution

  • Paid summer internship opportunity for 10-weeks at Union Studio in Providence, Rhode Island

  • Housing in Providence for the duration of the internship period

  • Mentor for AXP (NCARB Architectural Experience Program) within the firm
